Yvonne,
I have thought about this for so long and yet I am still at a loss for words. I will never forget your smile, always happy and always willing to give a great hug, those I miss so much. You were surely one of a kind, of course in a good way. I still think back to that day, and even though its been over a year now it seems like just yesterday. Every time I put my uniform on a walk out the door going to work, I think back to that Monday evening and wonder if today is the day I will have to run back into another incident like that one, praying I don't ever have to again. Lord knows I would, without thinking twice about it, because that is what we do. Despite how dangerous it may be, or what our dispatcher is yelling to us about what we are going as fast as we can to get into, we go and try our best to make a difference. So many times I wish there could have been more I could have done that day, knowing I would have done anything for you, I just wish there would have been more I could have done that day.
To your family, you all are in my thoughts and prayers, yes still to this day. I can not imagine how this hurt you all, from my stand point I can't see how it could hurt worse than losing a sister officer, but for the family I know it is a worse hurt. You all hang in there, Yvonne was a great person, and will never be forgotten, especially by those who knew her personally.
Yvonne I know its been a long time since that day, but now I can tell you again, go rest in peace sister, we love you, and we will take it from here. R.I.P. WP84! We will never forgot!
