Your heroism and service is honored today, the 4th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and you will always be honored and revered. I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace today. Thanks to your family for sharing in their reflections their devotion to you.

Rest In Peace.

Hey there Billl,

I'be been thinking of you today, and remembering. I remember when your boys were young and we had a shift party at my house, you, Cindy, and the boys were there and they had so much fun jumping into the pool! You wore that wide grin and a good time was had by all! You were such a good, kind, and gentle man - YOU are missed Bill!

This was the day in 2007 that I lost my training Officer Sgt. Bill Biggs 217. He trained me back in 95 and he was one of the toughest and fairest Cops I knew. Back then he always wore his hat, smoked a cig, and wore Raybans. He was always there for me and was one of the first to congratulate me when I made Sgt. Unfortunately I was there the day he lost his life but It was too late. I will always remember Bill. RIP

Bill-
I just wanted to let your family know we are thinking of them. As the anniversary approaches, please send them extra signs. Those signs help so much. We are so glad that we met your family and hope to see them again soon.

Thank you for all that you did for the community.

Still, 2yrs later, not a day goes by that I don't think of you, Bill. My heart may be scarred from your death but my life will always be touched with your presence. That's the way it will always be. I miss you my friend.

Just thought I would stop by. I know the next anniversary is coming up and how sad it still is. I also wanted to tell you I enjoyed spending the COPS Sibling weekend with Alyson, Catherine and Jimmy B. We shared some laughs and we shared some tears. It felt good to talk about our Bill's. I am thinking about all of you and please know you are in my prayers.

Well Bill, you and Tom have been gone now for almost two years. There is still a void where you two were that has not been filled and the hurt and pain is still there for a lot of us, even though we may not show it. Just wanted to stop by and let you know that you are never far from my thoughts. Your perpetual smile and laughter will always be missed. You brought calm and a sense of order that no one else could. Rest easy Bill ...

Dad,
Well i did it, i am where i want to be. I am sure that you know this already. We finaly became full time floridians. I know that i should have left missouri on better terms with everyone but you saw what was going on. The good news is that i am happy now. Our reasturant is now open and the people love what i am serving them. I am putting all my heart and soul in this, not that i wasnt before. I think that you would be really proud of what I have accomplished here in such short time. I know that there are issues up north that need taken care of but that will work out in time. I have met a really cool police officer down here, his name is officer jose raplee, he reminds me a lot of you and we have really hit it off, he remembered hearing about the whole thing and even took my menu and posted it at the police station with your story. I hope that you will continue to watch over me and karen, I really need your support right now. Bo does too, following in your footsteps and becoming a officer like you. I know he will do his job as well as you have. I want you to watch over him, i cant stand the thought of losing him too. I miss you and love you so much. I hope that you can help me with this family situation, sorry i havent written in a long time, i wont let that happen again.

love ya dad

As I remember the loss of U-City's Sgt. King this weekend, I'm also thinking of your family & Officer Ballman's and the losses they suffered in 2008. These tragedies shook our community so hard last year, and I can only imagine how it shook your family and friends.

I think about you all frequently. No matter how much time passes, I hope you always know that the police community will never forget your service or your loved ones.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Sergeant Biggs and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Sergeant Biggs, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Sergeant Biggs is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

It was their duty to serve; it is ours to remember.

I was honored to have meet both your sons at the NPW 2009 and learned about your heroism. Your son, Cody gave me a pin with your badge number and every time I see it I think of your family. May God continue to give them strength to move forward and remember the honorable person you are. Your blue family and other surviving families will never forget the courage you faced daily. With that said thank you for your efforts to keep this nation safer.

SGT Biggs,

I had the honor of escorting your family and friends around DC one night during Police Week and they were a great bunch of people. We only got lost once or twice, but they were a kind and caring group of people. I know God will comfort them during this difficult time. You are not forgotten sir! Rest in Peace...

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.
