Dad,
Last night we attended the 10 year anniversary ceremony. I can't believe its been 10 years. I won't lie, it was hard. Bo wasn't able to attend, he followed your love of the mountains and now lives in Colorado. It was hard not having him here with us, I know it was hard on him not being here. He is a cop like you now, I see you ever time I see him in uniform. You would be proud.
Your family has grown tremendously the past couple of years. I married an awesome gal, melissa. You would love her and she had a little boy, Tommy. We had your first granddaughter, Willow Avery. Close as we could get to William with a girls name. I see you in her, she's totally a Biggs. A few months after Willow was born, Bo and Christina had a little boy, William King the Third. He's a cute little rascal, and James Wade was born this past July. Melissa and I are expecting 5th grandbaby this year too. Mom loves it, loves the grand kids. They keep her busy. Lol. Willow knows who you are, calls you PawPaw when she see your picture. She doesn't understand why you aren't here or the sacrifice you made yet. But she will. Grandma Pat got to meet her and William before she joined you. She loved it. Loved holding her GREAT grand daughter. Your niece Jamie had a baby too! Drew loring, she's a cutie pie as well.
Your family is growing dad. Just wish you were here to enjoy them. You would have been the best grandpa, I know it, because you were the best dad. Miss you pops.

Hard to believe that today is the 8-year anniversary of that horrible night at City Hall. I still remember. It was a privilege to get to know you. You were taken from us way too suddenly and way too soon. Praying for your fellow officers, your friends, and your family today. You are dearly loved and greatly missed.

Your family is growing. Your beautiful grand daughter was born June 4th 2015. Willow Avery is her name and she looks like a Biggs! Bo and Christina are having a baby too. They are due in October, William king Biggs the third will be his name. I'm sure you are aware by now, mike passed in June as well. He had a heart attach the day I brought willow home and passed two days later. I know you guys a fishing and watching over us. I miss you. Talk to you soon.

Hey Sgt. I often think about you. I remember the story and often use it, about you inviting the Marine Corp. recruiter to your house for your son. I remember you saying that later on in his life, he said it was the best thing that he could have done. Well, I'm sure that he has done very well and I'm positive that you are proud of him today. You have impacted alot of lives. I am one of those lives that you have touched. Just how kind and gentle you have always treated people. Even in the toughest times.
I MISS YOU SGT. and THANK YOU!

Today, Jan. 26, 2013, I attended a march to prevent gun violence in Washington DC. Thousands of us were given plaques bearing the names of people killed by gun violence. I was given Officer Biggs' name. Although I did not know who he was until I found this web site, someone did know and now I will remember.

Hey there Billl,

I'be been thinking of you today, and remembering. I remember when your boys were young and we had a shift party at my house, you, Cindy, and the boys were there and they had so much fun jumping into the pool! You wore that wide grin and a good time was had by all! You were such a good, kind, and gentle man - YOU are missed Bill!

This was the day in 2007 that I lost my training Officer Sgt. Bill Biggs 217. He trained me back in 95 and he was one of the toughest and fairest Cops I knew. Back then he always wore his hat, smoked a cig, and wore Raybans. He was always there for me and was one of the first to congratulate me when I made Sgt. Unfortunately I was there the day he lost his life but It was too late. I will always remember Bill. RIP

Bill-
I just wanted to let your family know we are thinking of them. As the anniversary approaches, please send them extra signs. Those signs help so much. We are so glad that we met your family and hope to see them again soon.

Thank you for all that you did for the community.
