Reflections for Constable Edward F. Ryan

Constable Ryan, it has been 91 years since you were taken from us. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your 3 years of law enforcement service.

I have a collection of old Life magazines, and many of them bear this address:

Mrs. Edw. F. Ryan
Kettletown
Southbury, Conn.

I presume this must be Mr. Ryan's widow. I'm so sorry to learn of his death all these years ago.

Thank you for remembering my Grandfather. He died when my Mom was 8 yrs old + she never fully recovered. His wake was held in their parlor + they marched 1/2 mile to the church, then to the cemetery. My heart breaks for all of you who have suffered the loss of a loved one. God bless all of you.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 79th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace
