Reflections for Special Officer Thomas McMillin
Officer McMillin, today marks the 88th anniversary of your tragic death. How sad that two Santa Fe officers died on the same day, only a few hundred miles apart and both deaths were connected to hobos.
Railroad Police are not as common as they once were. The women, and men such as yourself do a tough job protecting one of America’s most vital assets, it’s rail system but sheer economics has caused many railroads to rely on overburdened local police to handle that protection. I thank you for your efforts in the past and I thank your decedents for their efforts today.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
