I am sorry to read all this. Brian Rest In peace, bro! You are a true HERO. I love Police officers and they will always be my heroes. As far as the killer I read on September 9, 2008, he was found not guilty by reason of insanity and committed in a state mental. No, this should not be. He took a life he should have given up his life. This is what's wrong with the USA if they enforce the death penalty in the same manner as a firing squad a lot of these senseless killings would end.

Brian I don’t even know where to start. It’s been so long since I’ve been on here. 10 years you’ve been gone but most days it seems like only yesterday! It’s not any easier, the pain is still here, the hurt still so strong. Tess is a junior now at The Ohio State University! Can you believe that? She is doing so great. I made her go to the branch of Ohio University her freshman year because I didn’t want her going to columbus; you know I worry. So towards the end of her freshman year she just wouldn’t give in on me letting her apply at OSU. She got accepted and has been there the last year and a half. She made the deans list spring semester & just got all a’s & 1 b this last semester so she did it again!!! I am beyond proud of this girl. She amazes me. I know she is amazing you too!!!
There are so many things that have went on these last years i could write for days. I just have to believe that the good Lord is allowing you to watch over us from above and see all these wonderful life happenings of your baby girl. We always talk about you, share stories & play your songs. You are never far from us. I promised you that you never would be. We hold you close to our hearts. We will never let you light burn out; you will be remembered for eternity. And not just because of your heroism but also because of who you were; the wonderful husband, remarkable Dad & just all around great human being. We miss you. We love you. Our forever hero. God bless you babe!!!
Love your girls,

Trina, I often think of you and Tess and Brian. I'm retired now and will soon be moving to Vermont, but I was always glad to see Brian and the others when I was at Speedway all night. I considered them all angels, because there were times when I was afraid and prayed for angels and they were there.

Hey Cuz,

Just wanted to say hi and tell you how much I miss you. I hardly ever saw you and I miss you, so I cannot fathom what pain and sorrow Trina,Tess, Kim and Crystal soldier through on a daily basis. You were the rock of your family, and you will live on in our hearts forever. I know that I haven't been on here to talk to you in quite some time, but not a day goes by that I don't think about you.

well hon it has been sooooo long since ive written to you on here. so very sorry. this last year has been so busy. baby girl and i up and moved to kentucky. lol im sure you have gotten a kick out of this news. its been a huge adjustment, well mostly for me, tess has done really well. we got setttled in over the summer & she started her freshman year of high school on aug. 1. yuck way to early to start school(but they are getting out may 3rd.) she made the varsity volleyball team and was a starter. she joined the choir, yes shes been singing in front of people:) her grades all year have been excellent. but brian most important of all is i started to see her slowly beginning to relax a little at a time. her smiles and humor are back. it has been a gift from the good lord above and im sure you have had a lil something to do with it, to see her not being so stressed and fearful. you would be so proud of her. she is just like you with a little bit of me. the school here and the kids have been so good to her and welcoming. but i have to tell you that the boys are starting to come into the picture...yikes!!! i know you hate hearing this but actually you would love the way shes handling it. she hasnt gone boy crazy and has decided that she, for the time being prefers just to be friends, because there is one in particular that is crazy about her. he actually reminds me of you in ways, back in the day when we were that age. bri, we miss you so much...the pain at times still physically hurts. tears flow and flow from not having you here with us. you will forever be the love of our lives. we will always be the 3 musketeers, in our hearts you will live on. i dont know if time heals this kind of pain or just maybe dulls it a little to help us survive. my husband, tess' daddy, our hero and our best friend you will always be. love you for eternity, trina & tess #182

Brian "BIC"...I often visit this site and every time I do, I check in on you! You were one of the best fellow officers that I ever worked with!
That day, Dec 26, will never be forgotten by myself, nor your department, nor 'your' city!
I often remember one of the funniest stories I remember about you...for 'whatever' reason, your patrol car became stuck on the railroad tracks (not a crossing I must add) and tried everything possible to move your car before we called a wrecker...which led to supervisors finding out!
My thoughts and prayers never stop going out to the family that you left behind.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fourth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace today, especially Trina, Tess and Crystal.
The circumstances of Brian's death are so heart wrenching to even read...I cannot imagine the pain in living through it.
