Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer William Eric Freeman

Please don’t cry
I’m not really gone
When you look out the window
I’ll be standing on the lawn

Please don’t cry
I’ll see you again
Don’t be sad
Keep up your chin

Please don’t cry
I’m not really dead
When you cry yourself to sleep
I’ll be by your bed

Please don’t cry
Just because we had to part
As long as you remember me
I’ll live in your heart

Please don’t cry
I’m not gone forever
I’ll be a cool and gentle breeze
In hot summer weather

Please don’t cry
Don’t run and hide
When you need a shoulder to lean on
I’ll be by your side

Please don’t cry
When you’re sad and weak
I’ll be there
To kiss you on the cheek

Please don’t cry
This is just a goodbye
So please, oh please
Baby, do not cry

Hey brother, I know it's been forever since I've been on here. I'm glad to see people still visit to show how much you were cared for. It doesn't feel like its been almost 4 years. A lot has changed since then, but the pain of losing you still remains. I know that night changed me forever brother. Good and bad. I don't know if you know or not but I am forever grateful for the sacrifice you made that night. There are no words to describe how I feel about what you did for me that night. I miss you brother and I hope one day we can see each other again. Just to say thanks at least. Watch over us all.

Although I didn't know you personally I remember hearing about you on the news. It reminded me so much of Officer Golden, that I immediately said a prayer for you and your family. May you rest in peace and continue to look down on your family. They are a strong bunch because it takes a soldier to deal with a loss the way they have and will continue to do. R.I.P.

i was thinkin bout you spying the hallway when we were in the academy, and knocking over your chair...made me chuckle. i feel so sad today, all the senselessness of things--all the backwards ways of people today. called your phone, thinkin maybe i'd hear your voice mail...i know, i'm a big ole stupid, but i'm sad, not smart :) i just wish there was something learned, and it is ever so obvious that nothing was. welp, it's time to go get ready for another shift...yay. we miss you. we love you.

My thoughts are with all of your loved ones today. All the broken dreams because of one individual who should not even be allowed to breath the same air as others. Wrap your wings around all of your loved ones and protect them and help them with their grief. You are a true hero and heroes never die. You will not be forgotten.

I can not even imagine how hard the last two years have been for your friends and family. Leslie has shown amazing strength through out this. I am praying for all of your family and friends. I know that the trial is going to be hard on all of them. I hope that the man who is responsible for your death gets what he deserves on this earth. I know that one day he will get what he truly deserves from the Lord. I will be praying for a guilty verdict to be handed down. RIP Eric you will never be forgotten!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you.
The hurt never goes away, but both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest in Peace

I can't imagine how your family must feel, even to this day, 2 years later. I hadn't seen you in over 20 years and only found out about your death a couple of months ago. My prayers are with your family andI know you are looking down on them and protecting them.

Put a Blue Light in Your Window

Put a blue light in your window
for those officers in blue
who were gunned down having coffee.
It's the least that we can do.

It's a way of showing honor
to their families who are left
who must face the coming season
feeling lost, alone, bereft.

On these silent nights of sorrow
as we take time to be still
that blue light in the window
will recall those who were killed.

Each with uniform allegiance
to the force they proudly served
died committed to our safety
and the laws they helped preserve.

So... to the green and red of Christmas
let us add the color blue.
It will say to those now fallen
we will never forget you.
