Hey Big Serg,
Its been hard and it doesnt seem to get easier. The kids still have a smile on there face as does everyone else. Although our heart still aches there is not a moment that goes by that you dont run through our mind. From something so silly we know you would laugh at or something so serious you would give all your attention to. WE MISS YOU and it doesnt get any easier. But the memory you have left for us is a strong one that I can hold on to. We are the lucky ones to have you in our life!!
MISSING YOU BIG SERG!!

Your Cousin!!

Dear Mrs. Carrera and Family,

My husband and i were sadden when we heard of your loss. Our daughter is a police officer as well as our son in law for the same city Sergio served.

The tragic day of his death. We had numerous calls from family thinking the officer down was one of our law enforcement family members. Later to find out, it was one " Our brother through christ."

Our hearts go out to you and your loved ones. Knowing loss, there is no words to bring long lasting comfort. However, we wanted to share this poem with you. In hopes it will bring you some comfort during your time of grieving. As well as to let you know we care.

Poem below:

"REMEMBER ME "

When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who i am with you, that i have left some mark of who i am on who you are.

It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles stand between us.

It means that when we meet again, you will know me.

It means that even after i die, You can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.

In memomry of Officer Sergio Carrera

God Bless,

Thinking of you!!!

I thought I saw your face today,
in the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
"Their work on earth is done."

I thought I heard your voice today,
then laugh your hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say,
"There's peace dear one at last."

I thought I felt your touch today,
in the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The spirit never dies."

I thought I saw my broken heart,
in the crescent of the moon.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The Lord is coming soon."

I thought that you had left me,
for the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say,
"They left you with their love."

I thought that I would miss you so,
and never find my way.
And then I heard the angel say,
"They're with you every day."
"The sun, the wind, the moon, the stars,
will forever be around,
reminding you of the love you shared,
and the peace they've finally found.

Sergio, You're Still The Man !!!

Sergio, I think of you every day. I am continuously reminded of you every day. I say your name to someone every day. You will not be forgotten.

Sergio, you were a "Straight Nut" at work. I still laugh at the crazy things that you would say and do. The crazy things that kept everyone laughing.

There will never be another Sergio. You are truly missed.

Happy New Years to you, Mrs Sergio, and the family of this great man. God Bless all of you.

To the Family of Officer Sergio Carrera My name is: Darin Maiden I lost my father at a young age and will tell you this…To “The Fighting Man” “Into Battle” … And life is colour and warmth and light, and a striving evermore for these; and he is dead who will not fight; and who dies fighting has increase. The fighting man shall take from the sun Take warmth, and life from the glowing earth; Speed with the light-foot winds to run, And with the trees to newer birth; And find, when fighting shall be done, Great rest, and fullness after dearth. The blackbirds sing to him, “Brother, brother, If this be the last song you shall sing, sing well, for you may not sing another; Brother, sing”… And when the burning moment breaks, and all things else are out of mind, And only joy of battle takes Him by the throat, and makes him blind. …The thundering line of battle stands, And in the air death moans and sings; but Day shall clasp him with strong hands, and Night shall fold him in soft wings. –Julian Grnfell hold on to love and remember his name.God bless your Family.

THE POLICE OFFICERS TRIBUTE

A man in blue has lost his life
In service of the law
The love that makes this sacrifice
Is the greatest love of all.

A policeman was killed today,
The reason why I cannot say.
I don't know why he had to die.
The man in blue died for me and you;
We must remember him too.

Flags fly low, let us bow in prayer
For fallen policemen are everywhere;
That they are all missed.
The badge burns bright like an evening star
Free from a world of war.

Deepest Regards and Respect,

To Louise,Sergio III and Izabella-

My name is Jeff Baxley. I am a recruit in Class 17 of the Palomar Police Academy in San Marcos, Ca. I did not know your husband and father, but along with my class, I pledge that we will carry on his memory by dedicating Class 17's efforts to Officer Carrera and you and your family.

As we have not earned the right to be called Police Officers yet, we will train to the limits in the name of your husband and father so that if the time comes in our chosen paths, we can perform to the highest standards possible as Officer Carrera did. He is an example of what is right in this world and the blood, sweat and tears we will shed this next year will serve as our memory to your family and him.

I sincerely believe that through the efforts of Class 17, we can and will make a small impact on your life by carrying on the legacy of Officer Carrera; your husband; your father.

While searching and reading about him, I found this tribute and wish to dedicate it to Officer Carrera from Class 17.
