Reflections for Corporal Scott Wheeler

As the anniversary of that day approaches.. I remember all the fun times on night shift and the sadness of that day. I pass that spot everyday on my way in and it still makes me cry. I miss you brother. You are never forgotten .

I knew Scott through work (Chick-Fil-A). We met in '06, he always left positive comment cards about myself and the rest of the crew. Very nice guy! Continue to RIParadise Corporal

Scott,

We grew up together and although we didn't always see eye to eye on things and we grew apart after school, i will always remember the day you made me sit through all three (at the time) Star Wars movies then made me watch mad max beyond thunderdome for the 50th time... i miss those days... i wish you were still around to give me tickets when i'm blasting through Howard County on my bike...

I knew Scott when he was younger, and would come over to our house with his older brother. As far back as I can remember, he wanted to be a police officer. I was so happy for him when he realized his dream, yet the loss of this awesome young man was devastating when it happened. RIP Scott.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both their pain and pride are forever.

I never had a chance to meet you, but many of my friends worked with you. You live on in their memories, and I think of you every time I pass the scene of the accident on Rt. 32. May you rest in peace, and thank you for your service.

Hey Scott- Tomorrow we head out to PA to get ready for the Unity Tour ride. As always you'll be in our thoughts. I'd appreciate a little tail wind if you're not busy (mainly Thursday, that's our 100mile day). We all miss you greatly and hope you're doing well up there!

I knew Scott back when I was a Security Officer, I met him when he worked OT walking around with us. He used to always bust my chops and call mer cup holder cause of my radio case. Scott was a happy, funny , and great guy. He helped to push me to where I am now and I thank him for that. Your always with us Scott!!!

I've been coming to this site for other various reasons lately, but I'm always drawn to this page. And every time I read through the memories and think of what a tragic loss it is that Scott is gone, it makes me as sad as it did the day I found out.

I don't know why I torture myself by looking at that picture but I do. I don't know why I read every single entry on the pages but I do.

It breaks my heart that you are gone from us Scott. As long as there are those of us who knew you personally, your family and family in blue, you are always remembered.

I may have not know Scott Wheeler, or his family but through the friendship of another HCPO learn about Scott. Through my confersations with my friend about what happened to Scott and the fine the young lady received I felt something need to be done.So through many conversations with my HCPO friend and Senator Bryan Simonaire, of AA County, the Negligent Bill was formed which was passed and came into law Oct 1st 2010. The new laws states a fine up to $1000.00 and lost of Licence up to 6 months. No it will not bring Scott Wheeler, back to us but maybe this is making something good out of something bad.

A current class of agent-candidates in Glynco, GA maintains a custom of memorializing a specific fallen officer each day during a tactics training class.

Monday December 6 is Corporal Wheeler's day. On this day of training, the class will learn a little bit about his life. After that, we'll crank out the push-ups for the man. It's our way of saying thanks.
