RIP Special Agent Balmer, Thank you for your service. My condolences to your family and friends who I pray will see you again in Heaven.

If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,

He said, 'This is eternity,
And all I've promised you.'
Today your life on earth is past,
but here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
and since each day is the same way,
There's no longing for the past.

So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart '

Dear Ryan & those who loved him,

I am Anthony's 6th grade teacher. My school runs a robust Treats for Troops program for those deployed overseas. Veterans' Day will be in a number of days. Anthony's 6th grade will be donating a portion of their Halloween candy, along with some cards of encouragement to our wounded warriors at nearby VA hospitals. Danielle has given me permission to give Anthony's cards to the hospital's chaplain. The chaplain will know your story. Anthony's cards will be used to help those with wounds that are most hard to bear.

Perhaps, one day after I cross over we'll meet. Till then, strength & honor.

Babe, it's been a while since I last posted on here, so I just wanted to say I miss you and love you more and more every single day. Even though it has been just over three years now, the pain still soars through my heart and I can't help but wish you were still here with us. I found some old emails from you from the months right before your deployment, and it took me right back. They made me laugh and they made me cry, I miss you so much!
Can't see you soon enough my love - please continue to watch over all of us still left here, thank you for all of the love and laughter.

Ryan and Family,

I just wanted to let you know that my FLETC class (primarily US Secret Service Uniformed Division, along with DoD, Amtrak, and FBI Police) trained in memory of you and Matthew today. It was the students first day; I told them your story, and they worked hard for you. There are now 21 Federal Officers, who know and respect you for what you have done and given to our country. And on behalf of all of them, Thank you.

SA Balmer,

I spent time with new AFOSI agents in training at FLETC the other day. I noticed your picture on the wall -- they created a beautiful memorial for you and your brothers. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Well as hard as it is to believe it's been almost a year since you've been gone, not a day goes by that you don't cross my mind. Somedays I find it so hard to think that we won't see your cheesy grin or hear that goofy laugh until we meet again. Other days I take comfort in knowing that you are now watching over us and making sure that we know you are still around, with your silly little tricks you like to play...not very funny! :0)
I promise to you that my nieces and nephews will grow up knowing what a great man you are. I am so honored to have known you and look forward to when we can meet again. Until than continue to look after us and know that your legacy will forever live on. Gone but Never forgotten, may you rest in peace my friend, my brother in law, my hero.
We love you and miss you...until we meet again.
Evan would like to say: I wish you could play with me, I miss you, I miss you a whole bunch, I have cool new cars...I love you uncle Wyan. :0)

Uncle Ryan, I say good morning to you (your picture) every day in my office. I was really looking forward to going to DC for your memorial, but my little one inside me is having health difficulties and I cannot go. I have heard stories that unborn babies are with the angels until they are brought into this world; if you have anything to do with it, will you please look out for her until she's born? Keep her entertained, as I know you are so good at that. I will always appreciate the encouraging and funny emails you sent me while my husband was also serving overseas. You helped keep my spirits up when I was really down. Even when you had your own family to be concerned with while you were over there, you took the time to make me smile and remember to keep my head up. We miss you dearly. See you on the other side...

Ryan was a great friend to my family! He displayed great pride in his work and it still shows to this day. Not only was he a great Air Force military man, he was an OUTSTANDING father and husband. Ryan will never be forgotten for his contribution. God Bless him.
To Anthony Maccario- Thank you for remembering such a great man!
