Deputy Ogburn, as a police officer, I take great pride in knowing there are cops like you on the street. While most people in their 60's are retired, you were out there making a difference in the community and placing your life in danger. I can't help but to think that your actions, along with the actions of your partner, saved the lives of other deputies and of innocent civilians. You lived and died a hero and should never be forgotten. Please keep a watchful eye from above.

Orlando Police Dept.

Tony,
Thank you for your services, the support, and your friendship. The smile on your face and the jokes you would make, as you handed me my subpoenas to appear in court on my cases. You came to my home when I was injured on New Years and told if me there were anything that I needed, just call. Then with your smile and laugh, suddenly appeared the subpoena from around your back. For that moment, you made me laugh and forget about the pain from the accident. Thank you for the good memories, as I will keep them close to my heart, again in need to ease a different kind of pain of losing two great friends and fellow officers. You and Paul are two awesome men, who honored the Code of Ethics and displayed true meaning of "Integrity". I will miss you greatly. Rest in peace Tony and May God bless you and your family.

REST IN PEACE, BROTHER.

OFC B. GRAJEK

On Thursday, May 17, 2007, a part of me died. On that day, I lost a brother. Deputy Tony Price Ogburn, of the Henderson County Sheriffs Dept was killed in the line of duty. Tony Ogburn was my brother, not by happenstance or by birth, but by choice. Tony was my brother in Christ. Tony was my brother in blue. William Shakespear, in "Henry V" wrote: "This story[of the battle] shall the good man teach his son, And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by From this day to the ending of the world But we in it shall be remembered We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition."

Tony, you have fought the good fight. Tony you have finished his course. Tony, you have kept the faith. Well done, good and faithful servent.

The policeman stood and faced God,

Which must always come to pass.

He hoped his shoes were shining,

Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.

How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek?

To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,

"No lord, I guess I ain't,

Because those of us who carry a badge

can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,

and at times my talk was rough,

and sometimes I've been violent,

Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,

That wasn't mine to keep

Though I worked a lot of overtime

When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,

Though at time I shook with fear.

And sometimes, God forgive me,

I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place

Among the people here.

They never wanted me around

Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,

It needn't be so grand.

I never expected or had too much,

But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne

Where the saints had often trod.

As the policeman waited quietly,

For the judgement of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,

You've born your burdens well.

Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,

You've done your time in hell"

Clinton Police Department
