Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Tony Price Ogburn

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our heart,
and we are never ever the same. - Unknown author

We will never forget you. May the Lord greet you at his gates with a warm embrace.

I grew up in Tyler, not far from Athens. I have lived in Austin for 20 years and have a good friend who is APD motor officer and had a brother in law who was a Tyler police officer... I believe he is there for the funeral and my heart goes out to family and friends of both of these officers. Most people take for granted the sacrifice they make each and every day... for us to be
safe... I pray they find peace and know they are in a better place...

Deputy Ogburn;
The footprints you left upon this earth cannot be filled, but the path that you followed is traveled by many men and women in the police, fire, and emergency medical services. We can only pray that we are able to live up to the standards by which you lived and ultimately died. May your spirit, and ours, find comfort in the memory you leave behind. Rest In Peace Brother.

To the family of Deputy Tony Ogburn:

I am so sorry you have lost your husband, father, grandfather or uncle. It is tragic that anyone loses a loved one, but it especially tragic when it was totally useless. My daughter was a deputy sheriff and my brother was a deputy sheriff and is now serving in a different law inforcement agency. The men and women who choose to put their lives on the line to protect all of us private citizens are very brave and very special individuals. I'm sure it is little consolation to you, but many people care that you have sacrificed so much. You will see how much the people of Texas care at the memorial service.

Here is a scripture which I hope will help you get through this bad time:

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." Psalms 121--1&2

As a brother of the badge I know the sacrifices that we must face. We all are willing to pay the ultimate price but few of us must pass that crossing. May God bless your family and keep His angels around them. You will always be a hero and protector of Henderson County and its citizens.

Brother rest now in Gods arms and may our heavenly father hold your family close. Some may look at that property as "where two officers died" but I see it as where God called two angels home. To be absent in the body is to be with God
