Bless you for your dedicated service and your family is in my thoughts and prayers forever. Alan you were more than just an officer, you were a part of our family and I will never forget the memories we've created on our journey together. I know you are in a better place now and looking down on us all. You impacted my life more than you know and I will miss you so much. You were the heart and soul of 10th Academy and I am so grateful I had the chance to work with you. I want you to know that you will be in my heart forever. Thanks for the dedicated service you provided to the citizens of Rocky Mount. There are never enough thanks for what you do. This the kinnda job you work from the heart and soul,basically because you enjoy what you do.You will forever be 10-41 watching over heavens gates. My thoughts and prayers go to your family and extended family, the professionals, who will continue to serve the citizens of our town, and may someday have to pay the ultimate price in order to keep others safe. My prayers and thoughts will be with your family and friends during this difficult time. It was only two days ago that we had to bury a friend of mine who died in the line of duty - Cpl. Nick Polizzotto EOW 04-24-07.

Alan will be missed. He was like a brother to me. I used to tease him about being a Simga because he dress very neat all the time and I told him he should have been a Kappa. Alan is looking down on us and I know that he is in a better place with God.

Although I never met Officer Silver, he was still a part of the law enforcement family which I am also a part of. It saddens my heart to know that he was giving of himself to serve and protect others in the community, and he lost his life as a result. Your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
