My children and I offer you our deepest sympathy. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this time. Being a widow myself, I have no magic words but it is comforting to know that our department is like one big family that loves and cares for each other in time of need. We grieve with you.

Raul,

Was not only a brother officer or a neighbor he was my friend. I can see his backyard from my front porch. On more than one occassion he picked up my boys from school, took them home, fed them and played XBOX with them. Now my friend is gone and I won't see him driving past my house or riding bicycles with his wife, girls and little boy. May my friend's soul rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ. I miss you Raul. Thanks for being my friend.

We are all thankful to have our soldiers in Iraq and other countries, they are very special people. But, sometimes we fail to be thankful for the "soldiers" who are protecting us in our home towns. Thank you officer Gama, for the life you led and the life you gave to keep us safe. We honor you truly. You will be missed. I will keep your family in my heart and pray for them to be comforted.

Thank you for all your dedication and hard work throughout your 20 years as a deputy. Today I was driving in my car when I noticed your memorial sevice at St.Paul catholic church. My 5 year old daughter was in the car with me. She asked me what was happening. I couldn't help but pull over. We got off of our car and stood there to watch as you passed us by. My daughter then asked me to say a prayer with her. She asked God to watch over your children and wife. She said that now you would be able to meet her grandpa in heaven. Know that we will continue to pray for your family. May God Bless your wife, children, mother, and sister. Praying for you,

It is has been over a year since Kyle, my own husband, died at work and I had to receive the incredibly soul crushing news. It is hard for all of us to even imagine what you are going through. We work real hard to keep our livelihoods and love alive. Life can sometimes bring tragedy our way, from no fault of our own and for reasons we can't understand, but we are a community of people that care and are here to support you in every way from the smallest to the largest gestures.

Raul, no matter how difficult the job became you always were there to crack a joke and make me laugh. It was nice to have a partner that also had to sit on his posse box to see over the steering wheel!Your smile shed light on many a gloomy day. I felt safer because I knew you had my back. I was encouraged by your love for others, especially your family. Your devotion to them was one of the things I admired about you. Your example made me proud to be your friend. I will be looking for your smile the day the Lord calls me home.
