I'll never forget the day that you & I met. I was walking home from Lincoln and there you were in your Cable Truck.... Never did I think that you & I would become great friends. You were always there when I needed you. I'll remember the countless hours we spent talking on the phone through your time in the Academy and the years to come in MCJ. Along with all our dates, I'll Remember you & your Wonderful Smile. I'm Truly Sadden to find out that You Have Left This World Behind. I Loved You Then & I Love You Still.... Rest In Paradise

God Bless you Sir/Brother,

I stood watch over your resting place yesterday alongside my current and your former partners. I cannot tell you what an honor it was to be part of something so special.

I thank you for your legacy and service. Of what I observed yesterday, you will never be forgotten.

As you once told your wife, that if you had to do it all over again you wouldn't change a thing, me neither Sir.

Be at peace brother, we'll take it from here.

a day doesn't go by that i dont miss you, i need you now more than ever. i'm graduating this year it doesn't feel like 3 years.marco is now six and he is getting soo pains me to know that when i graduate and i look out to the audience i wont see you there, but i know you would want to be there.veterans day was so hard for me i always thought that on that day i would walk you down the isle, when i heard the bugle i begged God to make all of this a much has changed, but the mark you left on me is still the way you left it. Ilove you soo much,i would give anything to see you the day i graduate, to hear you say the words I'm proud of you one more time. It's not fair that every other girl my age has someone like you by their side and they dont even realize it.your in my heart every single millisecond, i love you, and i miss you, i know you will be watching over us every moment.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

It's been a year now, I pray for your Family still.
I still remember your days as 26T and asking for help with those crashes in Cudahy. I had too many of my own in Commerce, but I rolled there to assist you. I was not at your memorial yesterday but, I did honor you in my own special way. Godspeed Bro.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Deputy Gama, especially to his wife. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Raul, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Raul's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Raul's life was about so much more than the way he died. Raul will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Deputy Gama, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

My Dearest Brother and true Friend, the one who I could always depend on to be trusting and encouraging at all times. You gave me confidence when i needed it and a good scolding when i needed it as well. You defended me and stood up for what is true and correct. I thank God that i was honored with visiting with you the morning before you left us. I thank God for blessing me with you and your family as my friends. I miss you so much it hurts. I tell Tony every time there is a delema, " I wish we could call Gama, I bet he'd know the right answer."
Raul, I remember when you saved that little guy out of the river bed. We were so proud of you and we were so honored to be there when Sheriff Sherman Block honored you with that award! And oh my goodness, You are the reason that I was able to go on my ride along more than once, and to top it off because of YOU i was able to go up in the helocopter and experiance the time of my life. YOu taught me so many things that only a true brother could do! You affected our lives and planted the most positive seeds. God blessed us with YOU! Becuase of the lives you have touched, this world will never be the same. I will never be the same. I have been wanting to leave a memory since you left us, but i couldnt becuase it was too difficult. Now that Christmas is nearingm i was going thourgh some photos and saw one that i keep close. Its the one of you stuffing Santa with them pillows before we go and hand out candly to the kids in the community. YOu were always helping Santa get ready at our house with Barron, Miguel, and Margarita. I miss you my beloved brother. I miss you and love you forever!

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
