Officer Algeo, it has now been 165 years and your tragic murder has not been forgotten. We can only hope that your murder found true justice, if not in this life, then in the next. I find it extremely touching that your last words were in concern for your family.

God Bless and may your rest remain ever peaceful, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 153rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
