Hey brother. Im going to join the police force next year. Remember what we always used to say to each other from the movie bad boys. "We ride together, We die together, Bad boys for life." If only we could ride together and die together. Its been almost 3 years since you passed away and nothing has changed. We still feel pain without you here. I want to be like you josh. I want to be a hero. I want to make something of myself. I want to save lives and I want people to know that I am there to keep them safe. I love you brother and watch over me. We love you and miss you josh. bad boys for life

The wicked flee where no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:1

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends and family. May God bless and keep them.

To his baby girl: I know your not old enough to read this, but when you are, I want you to know; life without your daddy's gonna be hard, but you gotta hang on. He is a hero, now and always, he will never be forgotten. He loves you now and always.

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

Josh its been two yrs now since you left us. Just know that i think about you every day. At times i feel like you are riding with me in my patrol car. I still keep your number in my phone. I know that you won't call me by phone, but I know you are there. You were a great friend to me. We had some good times working in Old Fort. I hope that Shannon and Ryleigh are doing ok. To the family and friends of Officer Josh Williams and his fellow officers in the Old Fort Police Department:

On behalf of our entire family, we wish to pay honor to Josh's memory on the second anniversary of the day Josh so tragically lost his life. His heroism, valor and bravery will be forever remembered.

May you be continue to be comforted by the support and caring of your law enforcement family, and other police survivors. We grieve for you and with you. Our family lost our beloved Larry Lasater when he was fatally shot in April of 2005 during a foot pursuit of two bank robbers, so we know the anquish you are still experiencing.

Please know that the brotherhood and sisterhood of law enforcement and police survivors will always be by your side on each step of the journey.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Josh gave to his community and the citizens of North Carolina (the home state of myself and my son Larry) , and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 1, 2007.

I found this site after the tragic murder of NC Trooper Shawn Blanton and thought it would be fitting to leave a tribute to Officer Josh Williams as well for Trooper Blanton.

Its been well over a year since the untimely death of Officer Williams, but his legacy is still continued and remembered by all those that enter the training facility at McDowell Technical Community College. The training center, shared by the Basic Law Enforcement Training classes of MTCC and the NC Dept of Correction's Western Area Training Consortium, features the NC State Seal and also a badge paying tribute to Officer Williams.

While I never got the opportunity to meet him, Im honoured that he served the citizens of Old Fort, McDowell County, North Carolina, and the United States proudly and died while trying to protect a life. He will always have my respect and will always have a place in my heart - as a brother in the family of law enforcement officers.

Godspeed and rest easy, we'll continue your watch in your stead.

Thinking of you on the Anniversary of your first birthday in Heaven. I couldn't bear to say Anniversary of Clint's death so I came up with his birthday, I hope you don't mind. Clint just had his fourth birthday in Heaven, and I still miss him so much, and think about him everyday. The tears still flow like a faucet sometimes, but with the help of family and friends his memory lives on today.
I know that you miss Josh, and I wanted you to know that we are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers. I have blue candles in my window that burn 24/7 for all L.E.O.'s, and I will always remember and never forget the sacrifice that all of you made on February 1st.
Thank you Officer Williams for your services.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
