Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever, I hold your family in my heart's embrace today.
Rest In Peace

Reading these reflections from everybody just makes me tear up and makes me think how much i miss you. You were and always will be my hero, nobody will ever take your place. I wake up everyday and go on through my day trying to make you as proud as can be. I love you daddy and i miss you dearly. You were a great father, husband, and friend. You were a great person with a great personality. You always made me proud, i was always proud to tell everyone that my dad was a NYS Trooper and even till this day i am. I live through you because I am your child and I am so lucky to be that because your life still lives on in me. I love you daddy, mommy and I will forever and always miss you and love you dearly.

Trooper Rosado,
I want to thank you for being one of the many Troopers at Sp Riverside who taught me what being a Trooper was all about. I had the honor of spending my FTO phase alongside you and several great Troopers. Five years later, I put on the same uniform you wore and I am thankful for the knowledge you passed along. I think of you every single time I write a 306b, and its often because thinking of you makes me smile.
You were the perfect example of what a Senior Trooper should be!

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

Its been 1 year today and I remeber all like it was yesterday we had gone out the nite before and and you made it short because you had to go in early. It was the last nite we shared together with the guys and I will never forget it. When the news came in the morning I couldnt believe it we were just together how could this had happened,my first thought was how, why??
But God only has that answer he put you here to do this job but needed you ther for a bigger one I like to think of it like that. You will never be forgotten I will and will always remeber you my brother. You live always in my heart and are in my thoughts miss you much.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
