Reflections for Police Officer Kenneth C. Jordan
I live in Laurel,Md. and was behind a pick-up truck with Colorado tags and this reference on it. I am a very strong supporter of law enforcement so I went to your website and found this memorial.'
My father was a Police officer in the District of Columbia many years ago. I work very closely with the University of Maryland Police Dept. where I work. I am very sorry for your loss and ask that every Police officer take every precaution and stay safe.I ask God to watch over you all.

Ken. I had the privilege of visiting the national memorial in DC last August. I found myself looking at your name and remembering those days many years ago while we were in the Academy and then I noticed that I was crying very hard and had to sit down. I don't normally breakdown in public but that night came flashing back and I had a real tough time leaving and sleeping. I miss you buddy. God Bless your wonderful family and keep watch over us as I know you have been. Your friend Mikey

It is coming upon 10 years and we are toying with the idea of Tahiti. The expression of, "You only live once," really rings true....so do we go or wait some more? Saw you on video the other day and your smile was SO very good to see again - I knew I had not forgotten it!!! Keep smiling and sending your support, really feel it these days - smiling right back at you dear friend!!

Got out all the Christmas stuff.... finally, I just haven't had the spirit this year, but I did it for the kids. We got "Gus" out and I had to smile remembering that middle of the night run to Wal Mart when we added him to the family. Tori hung your PD snowman on the tree and it brought back all the memories of the HUGE tree that barely fit in our door, and dancing around that tree with you. We shared so many great moments together, all the 2-3hr phone conversations while you were "working" even though we had just seen each other and you were coming home to me soon, we still had so much to share. I will never forget you looking over at me that last camping trip in October headed up the pass and you saying "my dreams have come true, I have the pretty girl that loves to go with me, I have the dog, I have the truck and all the toys loaded up going to play. You were happy and loved living your life. What I wouldn't give for one more chance to talk to you. You are deeply missed and will never be forgotten.

Ken,
I recently had a dream where I ran into you in a crowd of people. It made me so happy to see you again and I gave you such a big hug! I told you how much I missed you and we talked a while. That dream was so real to me that I woke up smiling because I had seen you again. Thanks for visiting and hope to see you again real soon! You and your family are always in my thoughts. You will never be forgotten!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Ken,
Why it happened i have no understanding, i just know that you are missed. You were the person i could count on, and look up too. We never really got the time i wished we had, but in those few years you touched my life severely. I cant help but often wonder how different things would be if i could have grown closer and gotten to know you better. I guess we will have our time one day. i look forward to seeing your face again. Thank you for continuing to look over us. you are LOVED like crazy and missed just as much.

As the days get shorter and the anniversary gets closer the heartache grows stronger. I can't believe that it has been 5 years. They say time heals all wounds but never having the chance to say goodbye slows that healing process. We miss you brother and wish that we had that chance to talk one more time. I will always regret never calling you back that night. Rest in peace my friend

Ken,
It took your nephew three years and he finally bagged a deer at your favorite place. He dropped it in one shot!! I am still trying, but I'll get one eventually. It finally came together, understanding the whole thing about hunting. I know you were there with us in spirit, however I miss having you here in person to share the moment...

So he got one, a big one, a cow!! When he got back, he was acting like in 2002 for, "the big hunt!!!" We have already had some and yummy - the kiddos loved the steak. The Fall always an exciting time with changing of the seasons, birthdays, upcoming hunts. W.J. wants to visit, "Pooh's House," and wants to have a playdate with the cuddly bear - too cute!!! Thanks for being there - always. It is amazing how you are involved in the everday things, good to have you with us!!!!! UGH - miss you like crazy!!!!
