Nothing more need be said except we grieve for the loss of a brother and fallen comrade. But our loss pales in comparison to the loss of a father.......to the loss of a husband. May comfort in some way find Robert's family, his friends, and all those whom his life touched. While our hearts swell with sorrow over yet another senseless tragedy, let us fondly remember Robert and find comfort where we can. May God bless Robert's family, his friends, and his brothers & sisters within the Virginia State Police. God speed Robert........

My heart breaks for your family & friends as I know all too well their pain. My first husband was a trooper in NC and was also killed when struck by a vehicle while on a traffic stop (the violator he had stopped was also killed). I pray the Lord will wrap his loving arms around you and carry you through the rough days ahead of you. They don't get better, you just learn to take one day at a time and lean on your loved ones for help. Trooper Hill, may you rest in peace with our Father in Heaven.

To the family of Senior Trooper Robert Hill, my thoughts and prayers are with you. When I came to the end of the road and the sun has set for me. Don't want know rights held in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little but not too long and don't sit with your head bowed low. Remember the love we once shared, miss me but let me go.

Robert, I didn’t have the chance to meet you as your dispatcher at Division 5, but spoke to you on the radio several times while you dedicated yourself as a Trooper and served the citizens with courage, integrity and dedication. I was working in the radio room when the Emergency Call came over your radio from a Citizen in your time of need. Know at that moment I said a prayer for you and your family as EVERYONE came to your aide.

To the family of Robert, I express my deepest thoughts and prayers to you. It’s because of dedication such as Robert’s that I hope some day you will understand that your husband/father died doing his very best to make the world you will grow up in a better and safer place.

Always remember, "The glory of friendship is found in the inspiration that comes when we discover that someone else believes in us and is willing to trust us. Life is truly a gift of Love and we receive it best and live it best by holding it with open hearts and hands."

Robert your Journey has just begun and may you rest in peace. You will not be forgotten...

We will take care of things down here, while you wait for us up there. Till we meet again...
