I have been searching for more information about this death. John McCammon, also from Pennsylvania, was appointed a deputy US Marshal in the Kansas Territory in 1867. If anyone has information connecting John McCammon to George McCammon, please contact me. John McCammon was my great-great-great-grandfather. He began a tradition of law enforcement service, continued over the years by many, including me (32 years) and two of my children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 112th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
