Your heroism and service is honored today, the 6th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you.

Rest In Peace.

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

Dear Jose:
God bless you and your family. I was fortunate to meet your girlfriend Natasha and your son Christopher Emanuel Torres- Martinez. They came from Puerto Rico during Police Week 2007 and I spent 4 days with them translating and driving them around. Natasha has wonderful memories of you and your son will grow up knowing that his "papi" was a hero. Dios te Bendiga Boricua!
