Reflections for Sheriff William P. Stanley

109 years

Investigator TG Crabtree
Fairfax Co Police
July 25, 2011

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 108th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

It was a dark day in Dickenson County 106 years ago today. RIP.

It was 105 years ago today. The citizens of Dickenson County lost their Sheriff. Eliza Jane lost her husband. Jimmy Jack, Linda Cordelia, John Henry, Andrew David, George Greeley, Frankie, and Lackie lost their father. And a month later on 08/28/1902 Stella was born without a father.

It was today, 105 years ago, you received the bullet that would end your life six weeks later. I would not be born until almost fifty years later but I remember.

William P. Stanley was my great grandfather, too. I am the daughter of the late Donald Stanford Stanley, whose father was also Jim Jack Stanley, both of Clintwood, Va.
Daddy had 6 living children, but I being the youngest didn't remember much. The only thing that I remember him telling me was how hard he and his siblings had. Some stories he never would tell. He would just tell us, you don't need to know. I love and miss my father. Who was respected by all citizens of Dickenson, Co.

William P Stanley was my great-grandfather. My father was Earl Stanley, originally from Clintwood, Virginia. His father was Jim Jack Stanley, the son of William P Stanley. I heard this story many times growing up from my father. How pleased he would be to know his grand-father is being honored!!! Thank you so much!!
