Your heroism and service is honored today, the 98th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my native state. From an historical viewpoint,it is amazing that your killer was executed in less than a year. It is a far cry where the average wait in California is 22 years, thus I am likely never to see justice carried out for the murderer of my son.

Rest In Peace.

I am honored to wear the uniform of the same agency you served so bravely. Mr. Mumford died serving the citizens of this county so long ago but his sacrifice now will never be forgotten. Thank you Deputy Mumford for your sacrifice and for being a part of the men that layed the foundations for public servants in our community and future in law enforcement in Wilson County.
