Reflections for Chief of Police Ben H. Beasley

Rest in peace Chief of Police Beasley.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 78th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

You went to great lengths to help a man who then turned around and shot you. His suicide was understandable after he caused your death and his own sister's death. I am sorry that you were robbed of your life.

Rest In Peace
