Undersheriff Ellis
Thanks for your sacrifice and dedication to duty. Elko County is one of the most beautiful counties in Nevada. In the winter Elko County can be treacherous. With that said, thanks for fulfilling your duties with honor and courage, despite the danger. As a longtime Nevada peace officer, and on behalf of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office (Reno, Nv.). I thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Jim Lopey, Asst. Sheriff (ret.)
Washoe County Sheriff's Office (Reno, Nv.) & NVDPS

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 135th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
