Leave a Reflection

Reflections for City Marshal Charles Benjamin Jones

This is my great great granddaddy and his grandson is my granddaddy Thomas Earl Reeves who was also Chief of Police in Jacksonville, Florida. My cousin just showed me this. Rest in peace Great Great Granddaddy. Thank you for your service! I know you and my granddaddy look out for me in heaven.

Love, your granddaughter,

Just wanted to honor my great-grandfather. I did not know him but heard alot of family stories about how he came to Pablo beach and how he died. My mother wrote about Charles B Jones and his wife Lola in her autobiography.
I would love to hear from the person who wrote the first reflection who is his granddaughter. That would mean my mother had a sister? Would love to hear from you.
God Bless Marshal Jones,

Charles Benjamin Jones was my grandfather. I never knew him but heard many family stories, including how he died. I have a copy of the newspaper account of the accident and his wedding photo to my grandmother, who remained at Jacksonville Beach her whole life. I will try to get the photos I have to your site to add to his file

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 85th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
