Reflections for Officer John Bailey

John I only really knew you for a short time and in that short time you endured a lot and like a true soldier you kept coming back strong to fight another day. John you will be sorely missed by all that knew you. John your shift is over God Bless and rest in peace.

John was my platoon sergeant in the California Army National Guard. We went to Iraq together and I had the priveledge of serving under him. I was his HAZMAT guy in addition to being one of his UH-60 mechanics. I will tell you that the deployment was a lot more bearable - and sometimes even fun - because of John and they way he ran the platoon. He led from the front, which is what all good leaders do. Later in the deployment I got to know him well enough that we would sometimes talk about personal issues. Despite his "cowboy" demeanor he really was a thoughtful and insightful person. I will miss him, he was one of the good guys. RIP, John.

John was a very good friend and an excellent CHP officer. We shared our lives in the military, as well as brother officers serving together with the California Highway Patrol. He was always respectful to me and we NEVER shared an angry word between us. GOD bless you John! You'll be missed!

A hero who had been thru hell and back, done his duty in Iraq and in California has senselessly died. God bless this family, they gave their best to society. Someone who was just doing his duty, killed by someone who had no business being on the road. The family has so much to be proud of, we will never forget Officer Bailey, a hero to everyone in the nation! Farewell Hero.

To the family of Officer John Bailey:
I worked with John while in Rancho Cucamonga and will miss him greatly. John was an honorable hard working officer. He talked of his family often, he respected his wife and children. John had a smile that beamed his joy of life. Be proud of him as he was a great all around guy. Find peace in knowing he has joined the company of God as a true and faithful servant. From my family to yours, our prayers are with you.

Rest in Peace sir, you are 10-7. We will take the watch from here. God Bless You. God be with the California Highway Patrol, no agency should endure what CHP has endured. I grew up in Southern California looking up to the CHP, I would not be here serving and protecting if it were not for Officers like G. Bailey.

It's our watch.
