Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Officer John Bailey

Rest easy knowing we will never be forgotten.

Ofcr. M. Valdivia
Los Angeles School Police Department

March 1, 2006

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.

Gregory, rest easy brother, we have the watch.

My heartfelt sympathy to my beloved CHP and the family of Officer Bailey. What a tragedy that another drunk driver took another innocent law enforcement officer off patrol.

My heart aches for the Bailey family and for the brave officers still standing watch, making sure we California citizens are safe. God bless you all. Thank you, Love to all

I'm truley at a loss for words. Greg and I went to school together and as a teenage kid he was one of the nicest most carefree people I've ever met. Always good natured and happy. My deepest sympathy to his family. Greg(John), thank you for serving our country and protecting us. Thank you for touching so many lives in such a positive way. God Bless You. May the Lord help ease your family's sorrow. RIP

In the four years I worked and rode motors with John in Rancho, I remember only an easy going happy Officer and family man. I remember you with a smile at work, in your tour in Iraq, and out riding in the dirt in the desert. May you rest in peace and may God bless you and your family left behind.

I met John when he reported to the Rancho Cucamonga area, approximately 5 years ago. I was able to get to know him better while assigned as his motorcycle training officer. During that time we established a bond and friendship which I will truly miss. John was a pleasure to train as he made my job effortless because of his skill level on the motorcycle. John, you did everything right and as God would have it, you paid the ultimate sacrifice. This in turn may have saved numerous other lives and for that my friend, you are a hero without a doubt. God bless your family as they are in my prayers.

Officer Scott Stevenson
Rancho Cucamonga CHP

May our brother Gregory rest in peace. Gregory will now patrol the streets of Heaven with St. Michael and his angels. Never forget the fallen hero!

Greg “John” Bailey, my sincerest sympathies go to your family, co-workers and friends. You and I grew up together in Thurmont, Maryland, and I knew you as a kind, funny and wonderful person. It is no surprise to learn that in your adult life you became all that and more as a father, husband, soldier and patrolman, as well as to the many friends you made along the way. May your spirit live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved you. God bless you, and may you rest in eternal peace.

John and I transfered to Rancho Cucamonga at the same time and were initially partnered together on the graveyard shift. John immediately became one of my best friends and remained so ever since. There is a deep sadness in my heart that will never be filled. John will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
