To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

My maternal grandmother was Margaret (nee Bertucci) Parsons. Her older brother was Louis Bertucci. My mother was born in September of 1926, 11 months after her Uncle Louis was killed. As a child, I often visited Mount Calvary cemetery, where Louis is buried; I recall he had a very distinctive gravestone; however, I don't recall any mention of the circumstances surrounding his death or even the fact that he was killed in the line of duty.

The family history was always that Louis was killed when he happened upon a robbery; the page here says he was killed responding to a domestic disturbance.
