My most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Scott. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I lost my husband in the line of duty 11 months ago - he was the same age as Earl. 36 is too young to die. Please take comfort in knowing that he is forever safe in the arms of the angels, and is walking Heaven's streets of gold. He will guide and protect you as you continue on without him.

Thank you, Officer Scott, for your service and ultimate sacrifice. May God bless you and may you rest in peace, Blue Angel.

I send my condolences to the family, friends, and California Highway Patrol regarding the demise of Officer Earl Scott. Once again, I have lost another brother in my profession because of a cowardly 'thug with a gun', and hope whomever is responsible is caught and given the harshest punishent availabile by law. I hope everyone that knew this officer will continue to remember his bravery, courage, and the legacy in which he left behind.

Officer Scott your shift is over now, we will take it from here. Rest in peace, brother...
