Reflections for Officer Earl Harwood Scott

Its hard to believe sitting here reading all these reflections of our fellow Stanislaus County brothers, that you are gone. I remember being involved in a high speed pursuit with you through the streets of our fair county and what a blast it was! You were an awesome person to know and respect. I was honored to know you and work with you. All the jokes I made about you being "AAA" with a gun, well, we all know its with love that we said that.

Heres to you Earl, Godspeed my friend, we have it from here. I'll also be looking forward to seeing you again when I get my "transfer".

Rest in Peace my brother.

SCSO

CHP Officer Earl Scott, Family & Friends: No words can describe what a tremendous loss we have had to our community. We cannot extend our grief enough to Officer Earl Scott, his Family & Friends. As we slept in our homes & drove the freeways, Officer Earl Scott put his life on the line doing his job. Little did we know this trajedy was amongst us. He will always be remembered as our "Hero" who was trying to make it safe "out there" for our protection. We will pray for you & your family & friends in this time of saddness. God Bless You & all your fellow Police Officers & protect them as well as you do us.

Once again, I was reminded of the courage and dedication of CHP officers and the senseless actions of those who do not understand the importance of the protective role the CHP plays. Only five months earlier we lost our friend and mentor Andy Stevens to similar stupidity and my heart goes out to all Law Enforcement Officers. Media reports indicate Earl was dedicated to service to his community as was Andy and my gratitude to Earl for all he did. I know my heart aches all over again for Andy because of what has happened to Earl. My sympathies to all of his family and friends.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP. My heart stops each time one of my deputies does a traffic stop. This is such a sad end to an officers life.
