“REMEMBER ME”
Law enforcement officers are, indeed, a special breed of people. Ask anyone on the street and they will tell you that they would not have our jobs for anything in the world. It takes something special to do what we do and at the same time be able to even contemplate retirement. We try to be optimists. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who will never make that date with retirement. By the very nature of our job, we are at risk everyday of losing our lives, either at the hand of some deranged individual or in some other situation that we, by virtue of our occupation, may be unable to avoid. Some people have recognized the hazardous duties we involve ourselves in, the risks we take, and the pride we take in accomplishing that job. There is National Law Enforcement Week, dedicated to us who gladly accept the responsibility of protecting the citizens in our respective jurisdictions. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. These are but two examples of remembrances specifically for law enforcement personnel. Remembrances that come but once a year. We should remind fellow officers of another type of remembrance, one that will last a lifetime. Sooner or later, a doctor will pronounce us dead. It is inevitable. Regardless of whatever happens, death is the end we will all have to face.

I am saddened to hear of the loss of another brother. As much as we say it, it is trully like losing a memeber of our immediate family. All of us realize the risk associated with the career we have, however all of us still pin on that badge and holster our weapons in hope that we can make it home at the end of our shift. In some occasions the Good Lord has an immediate opening on his department and calls another brother home to serve with Him.
May God Bless your family, friends and fellow law enforcement officers as we grieve the loss of yet another loved and respected brother.
We will miss you down here, however we know you are in good company protecting the streets of heaven with all that have gone before you. If we think about it, what a prestigious calling to come serve in our Lord's department! As sad as it is now, let's comfort our hearts knowing Henry is in a much better and safer place now. He is going to be rewarded handsomly for his service here on earth as we all will when we are lucky enough to be called home to serve with The Lord.
Rest well my brother, we have you covered down here.

Psalm 23:4-6

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

Amen

As a former Police Officer, I am writing to you today to support your Department and the Officers' family in their time of need and pain. As I was sitting at the intersection of Flamingo and Rainbow today, seeing all of the police cars rolling Code 3, I felt and knew in my heart that something was very wrong. As I got home tonight and turned on the news, I saw that we as a community lost a Police Officer, not just another "Hero" but someone that was part of an organization that protects and serves the citizens of Clark County without thinking of the dangers that Police Officers encounter on a daily basis.

As a former Los Angeles Police Officer, I have sadly seen too many Police Officers pay the ultimate price for protecting our community. I felt that I had to say to you and the members of your department, thank you for your professional image and all that you do to protect us.

During this time period of loosing a Police Officer, we as a society need to realize how much of a sacrifice that Officer, his family, his friends and fellow Police Officers made to help us. It is also sad to say that it takes a tragedy to realize what you mean to us as members of our community.

My heart goes out to everyone involved with this tragedy...Thank You for your service, compassion and duty to the citizens of Clark County.

Michael Bondi
Former Police Officer

To my brother! My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. You paid the ultimate sacrifice for society and may you valor never be forgotten. GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER!

Justice has been served to the coward who beats a woman and kills an Officer. My prayers are with the family and friends of all the Officers of LVMPD. Special Blessings to the Off-Duty Officer that placed himself at risk to try to save his brother. This proves that an Officer is never truly "Off-Duty". Both Officers will forever be heros.
Time will never erase your pain, it will only ease it. Please take the time to share your love with all your family and friends during this time of mourning and always thereafter.
