I miss you my friend I miss the talks, we would have in regards to honor codes and commitment. We will see each other again my friend but until then please continue to watch over me, for weeks I did not sleep well after this terrible day occurred with you I wish that so called Actor from a Bronx tale should have gotten life along with Armento. Please accept my prayers too the family and I will visit them one day. Also if you come across a teenage girl with pigtails say hi and give her a hug and kiss from DAD, you remember her. I was in the NYPD in the early 1990s. I wore the same shield 29246 as Daniel. Heartbreaking to discover this. May Daniel rest in peace and may his sacrifice never be forgotten.

To the family of P.O Daniel Echautegui, 6 months after I moved to the Pelham Bay area, we, the community as a whole, lost a young police man with a promising future. For years his tragic lost weigh heavy on me, I've never had the opportunity to meet him but I'm sure we've crossed paths either at Bonavita supermarket even Pelham Bay park. Everyday I walk past the house he lived in when walking my dog or if I'm jogging in the area. At times I look at the street sign named after him and I shake my head in disbelief. 28 years old- just so unfair. My son who will soon be 24 expressed interest in joining NYPD and I encourage him wholeheartedly. My running friends asked if I wanted to run the NYPD Memorial 5K run on 5/22/16 and I accepted the offer and before they had a chance to suggest a fallen hero to run for I already knew I would be running for Officer Enchautegui, my running bib is personalized with his name in his honor. I will take pictures and if anyone is in contact with his family please share this information. P.O Enchautegui, thank you for serving and protecting. This one is for you. To the family: After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. My condolences.

I had the honor of knowing Daniel Enchautegui on the job and off the Job! He was an exceptional human being with great moral values, great son! It's a shame that this criminal brancatto is walking free after only 8 years! What a slap in the face to Danny's family and all the other great Police Officers that serve and protect the citizens of New York putting their lives on the line every single day! Rest in Peace Danny!

Detective Enchautequi,
I never knew you, but I would have been a lucky person if I had. Your bravery is beyond words. So many people, here on earth, miss you everyday, and that must mean you were a very special and kind hearted individual. I know that your family and fellow officers are so proud of you and they were so blessed to have you in their lives. I will think of you often and I know that you are the biggest angel in heaven! Sincerely, Janet Farrelly
