To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 50th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

You are truly a hero to many, especially me. As your oldest granddaughter, I was only 7 years old when you were taken from us, but I remember your kindness, your smile, your warm love, not only for your family, but to others you touched. You taught me how to wink, bought me rainbow snow cones and pushed me on a tire swing you fixed for us in your yard. I love to hear the stories from Mom about how you always reached out to people who needed help and never expected anything in return. I love you and miss you! Thank you for being my hero!!! Love, Pat

My grandmother (daughter to Marshal White) died last year (2010) was proud of her father, and would have liked to have spent more time with him in her life. He was stolen from her and her sister, and I am sure both have made their peace and have forgiven the people whom have claimed his life from them. I am grateful for the Bureau for creating this site for a memorial so that I may have access to this page and know of him, even when he was before my time.

Marshal White, I don't have to tell you that justice was NOT served in your case. The husband ONLY was convicted and served ONLY 14 years for manslaughter? What about MURDER? What about his wife? A total travesty and over an arrest for fireworks. Sick, sick people and a very sick criminal justice system that not only showed disrespect for you and your family and colleagues, but did a total disservice to that boy you arrested in showing him that, no matter what you do, you'll be fine. Totally disgusting.

Sir, you are a martyr for your sacrifice and we honor your memory here on this 48th anniversary of your MURDER.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

My grandmother was proud of her brother and thought highly of him. She passed away last year(2007). After his murder, she was never fond of fireworks because of this incident. I would like to say thanks for his service to the people of that small town, and to the rest of the state. I am thankful that he is remembered. I am sorry that he lost his life in such a manner. This message is posted on her behalf.
