The death of a Police Officer does not have to be in some violent manner to be tragic and meaningful to his/her colleagues. The loss of a Law Enforcement Officer is always a loss to a family, every family in this line of work and on this 79th anniversary of your passing, I as well as everyone in this profession, salutes you.

God Bless and may your rest be eternal, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 76th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered

I said a little prayer today for Sergeant Gayne and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.
