Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Marshal Albert R. Gooch was my great uncle and although I never knew him, our family here in Tennessee is aware of his service in law enforcement and his ultimate sacrifice. He remains a hero in our hearts and minds.

On today, the 79th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Nocona. I can't believe that your murderer was only sentenced to five years.
