As a recruit in the Police Academy earlier this year, I had the privilege to ride along with Officer Jenkins on one of his shifts.
He quickly stuck me as a knowledgeable, competent Officer who I looked forward to working with as the U.C.F. Police Department was my first choice for employment upon my graduation.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Every officer knows when he fills the application out to become an officer that this type of tragedy could happen. We never think it will happen to us though. What a tragedy! On behalf of the Flint Police Department our prayers go out to the family, co-workers and friends. The Orlando Police officer needs all the support and compassion he can get. I personally thank Officer Jenkins for his service and dedication to his community.
