Your heroism and service is honored today, the fifth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace.

The words lasered on your Headstone...
Step forward now Policeman,
You've borne your burdens Well;
Come walk a beat on Heaven's Street,
YOU'VE DONE YOUR TIME IN HELL !!!

Today marks the FIFTH anniversary of your death. God, it is unreal how time flies. It seems like an eternity since I talked to you, held your hand, hugged you, and kissed you...but in other ways it seems like it all just happened last week. I will never forget the very minute you got the call and left the house. As you drove off, I turned the police scanner up and headed to the kitchen. The words "OFFICER DOWN, OFFICER DOWN !!!" will forever haunt me. Somehow, I knew you had been killed. Senseless, Wrong, Brutal, Horrifying...whatever you want to call it does NOT bring you back to Justin and me. He was only nine years old when you were taken from us, he is almost fifteen now. He is a good kid. You would be very proud of him. He is considering following in your footsteps...which scares me so badly. But, I know that God would not take both of you away from me.
I love you very much, Baby...and God knows I miss you each and every day. My heart hurts so badly for you. So,
UNTIL WE ARE TOGETHER AGAIN....I LOVE YOU !

I just found out about this site not long ago. It is hard to believe it has been over 5 years. I will always remember the smile on your face and comming in my office at FMC and saying let's go to Big Dan's and get a margaritta. After what happened yesterday, I thought about you and your family all day today. You are a HERO to all of us. We all miss you and will never forget you. Shelly, I think about you and Justin and how much you must miss him.

Today is the day that I have been dreading since this time last year. It has been four long years without you here. Justin and I continue to miss you each and every day. You are always in our thoughts. Justin looks more and more like you every day. He has grown up so much lately. He spent a couple of weeks with your Dad, Gloria, Jeanne, Shanny, and Dean and was able to visit with Olga, Lupe, and Yvette. He was very glad to spend time with them to get to know them better.
You are deeply missed by us as well as the rest of your family, friends, co-workers and others that you served.
We will ALWAYS LOVE YOU....No matter how many years pass.

I never knew this. The internet does reach out to people, doesn't it? My prayers are with the family. I don't know how you feel or how you have managed to cope. I can only imagine. God bless you.

Hey Brother,
The Christmas Holiday is approaching & I wanted to let you know that I am always thinking of you & missing you. Your sister Evelyn really inspired me this holiday (as you know I was never big for decorating at Christmas), but Evelyn sent me a photo of her lights on her house this year & it was lit up so beautifully with white & blue lights! She didnt have to say it when she sent me the picture but we all knew that she did those colors for you. The next day I decided "What a great idea!" & I spent probably too much money on these LED lights that glow really bright. Now our house is decked out with the blue & white lights as well. And there are lots of them! I hope you like it. I love and miss you with all my heart.

Hey dad, it's vanessa again.

so, i turned 28 last friday and you'll never guess what i found......A WHITE HAIR THAT WAS AN INCH LONG!!!!!!! i don't know how i missed it, not fair! it's only the beginning i guess. so, it's almost 2009 and i'm hoping for a better year. i'm sure you know that jason hasn't had the best of luck out on the streets. jason was hit last month on his way to work by a person not paying attention on the beltway, he was ok. he got rid of his old car to get a car he really wanted, not even a month old and he was hit again by some person who i'm pretty sure was falling asleep and rammed into him totaling jason's car again on his way to work. i like to think that maybe he was ok because you where watching out for him. :-) he's been a little down about losing his car, but i'm sure things will get better. mom has helped him out so much, he's lucky......he doesn't realize how lucky he is. well, it's about my bedtime now, have to work in the morning. i will talk to you soon, please do me a favor and keep watching over us. we love you!

your daughter,

vanessa

Hey there! Remember me Yvette ... ? We never really had a whole lotta time together. However, I do think of you often and wonder what is going on in heaven! I know that's where you are ... along with Granny and Grandpa. Gosh, I miss them. Give them a big hug and kiss for me please. Hey, another thing, if you don't mind ... look out for my mom and dad. I work so much lately that I'm not around them enough and gosh do I feel bad. They are getting older and seem to need me more and more. Anything you can do to brighten their days is appreciated. =) Thank you cuz and know you are loved and missed very much. Oh, as if you didn't know that already huh? Anyhow, yes yes yes ... you are missed in soo many ways. Wish you were still with us .. take care .. love always!
