Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Rogelio "Roy" Gonzalez, Jr.

I would like to send out all of my condolences to this Gonzales family. I know that there is no one else who can replace this wonderful person. He truly will be missed. I really have nothing but sympathy for the family because it is so sad the way it all went down. Just know that he is in heaven smiling and watching over his wonderful family. I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful man and I didn't know a day that he didn't have a joke for you. He loved his family and they all knew it. He also loved his job and he showed that by the compassion he displayed at the workplace. May God Bless This Family!~!~!~!

Mr Roy was one of the best officers to serve in Franklin Parish. I will miss him greatly since he would always have something funny to say to me. The people of Franklin Parish have lost a devoted friend and servant. He will always be remembered by all who knew him. To his family may you have peace and comfort knowing that he is in a better place watching over you. Thank God Bryan is doing ok as well as the other officers involved in this tragic incident. May you rest in peace. Mrs Shelly, you and Justin are in our prayers daily as well as the entire Sheriff's Department as they continue protecting us.

In the past three years I have had the opportunity and great pleasure of working with Sgt. Roy Gonzales. I can tell you from experience that it would be hard for you to find a better police officer or for that matter a better man. We in Franklin Parish have lost a part of our family. He was very much loved and respected. He was my mexican buddy as I called him. I work for an agency within the parish and anytime I needed help, if he was able he was there any time that I needed him. Roy, we love you and will miss you greatly.

I would have loved to know Mr. Gonzales better than I did. His wife teaches history at FPHS and she is an awesome woman and she loved her husband very much. I don't think our police officers get enough attention in our area.
