I just found out that this is my great-great-grandfather. I came across this information on Peace Officers' Memorial Day of all days. This day usually finds me reflecting on the friends and coworkers that I have lost over the years, but this revelation just floored me. Marshal Holt, you will always be remembered in the many lives that you have touched. Rest In Peace, Good and Faithful Servant.

I just came across this page. I'm the great-great grandson of Marshal Holt. I don't know as much about him as I would like to know but am very proud that I came from such a great man! I'm thankful for his service to the people of Villa Rica and our family. I wish I weren't so far away so I could be there for the hwy dedication in his honor in Sept.

This was my Great grand daddy. I remember my mom and grand mother talking about this. His name was not on the wall of the officers who were killed in the line of duty until my cousin Frank McGuire had his name put on the wall he got all the information and had this done. So proud of him sorry he lost his life doing what he wanted to do.. On September 17 at 2 oclock at Concord they are dedicating hwy 101 and the road to roses store in his honor. Makes me proud we will have a hwy named after him. The Villa Rica police department is named after him also

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and fourth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. It is wonderful that so many of your descendants have found this site and posted tributes to your memory. I am sure you are proud of all the family members that continued your legacy of piblic service.

Rest In Peace.

The stories of Pleasant Holt have lived on in my mind since
childhood. He was my great-great-grandfather. My grandmother told me everything she knew about him. He was
never afraid as an officer. He loved his family fiercely
and in serving Villa Rica, he was also protecting some of his own children and grandchildren who lived in the town.
God dealt out justice to the man who killed him before the
courts could. I salute my family hero who got the job done.

Thank you for being an inspiration to our entire family. You would be so proud. Many of us have gone into public service: law enforcement, education, health care, because you gave the ultimate sacrifice. As a child, I slept on the bed you bought Ida for her wedding and felt safe and secure. Now as I begin to teach future police officers, I will be inspired and driven to live up to your honored name. Even though I only know you through stories and pictures, you were a good cop and an even better father. Thank you.
