I am not an officer. I am just a man. As we often think of Police officers on duty we cannot understand how hard it is to be unpopular and under-appreciated when they pull us over and give us a ticket. If not for them, someone else would have already ran you over. God bless all of you who serve us and protect us. God rest your souls.

Thomas,
Thank you for your sacrifice and for wearing the uniform proudly. I am happy to see that you gave the final justice to the coward that did this to you. Your bravery will live on forever in the hearts and minds that knew you. Look Brandy up in heaven and share a few stories with him. He was a wonderful man that we all miss dearly. Tell him we love him.

I hope that your family and friends are able to find peace and happiness at the end of this long journey that they have begun.

To the Catchings family, I did not know Ofc Catchings personally but I did attend his funeral. Nothing touches my heart more than the loss of fellow officer. Thomas was a well loved man. i could tell that by the speaking at the service. We will never understand why this happened, but i assure you, God does. I know he will be deeply missed but just continue to pray and just remember, its NOT goodbye, its SEE YOU LATER. Thomas, I know you were looking down at all the officers friends and family that attended your gracious homegoing. We will all have to hang our badge up one day. I just pray that if I am faced with a situation like that of wich you were in, I hope that God will give me the courage that you were able to have. May God bless all the family friends and our extended family of brothers and sisters in blue. We love you Thomas. If the family needs anything, feel free to contact me.

I want to again send out my heartfelt condolenses to the Catchings family, his wife, and children. Remember to stay strong and always seek God even when you feel you are not in need of Him, thank Him anyway! Thank Him for blessing you with the time you all did have together, thank Him for allowing Thomas to live the life he did live, as fulfilled as it was, and as helpful as it was to the lives of others. His occupation said MORE than enough of what type of person his was, and what type of person he will be in Heaven.

My heart goes out to Officer Catchings' family because I know what it is like to lose someone so close. Time heals, but you never completely get over the loss of a loved one. Officer Catchings was well liked as displayed by the show of support from his co-workers, friends, and the public in general. Reflecting on works I wrote on the first anniversary of my mom's death..."Out of all the roses on Earth, God picked her, the brightest of them all, and planted her in his garden of life so he could nurture her forever". That is what he did for your loved one. May God Bless you all

God needed more angels to watch over us and who better to be one of the chosen than officer Catchings. We are now really protected and serve with officer Catchings up above patrolling us.
