Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Robert Morgan

I work for Mount Vernon Police Department in Texas located in Franklin County Texas. It is amazing to learn some of the history. This Deputy paid the ultimate sacrifice and is truly an inspiration that he fought until his death and wounded one of the perps.

You were doing a good thing, letting the sheriff go to lunch, and were killed in the line of duty. Only 10 minutes on the job. That does not matter as your ultimate sacrifice and dedication to duty by wounding one of the bad guys, is an inspiration. Thank you for your sacrifice.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 130th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
