Your heroism and service is honored today, the 100th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Officer Yates has been recognized and honored with his name included on the Fraternal Order of Police Memorial in Tallahassee, Florida. I have read the 1911 newspaper accounts of his death and the grief it caused to the small community of Plant City. It took a long time to officially remember Officer Yates but he has never been forgotten by his family. Well done Officer Yates, You served Plant City well and they are proud of you. Rest in Peace brother.

No officer should be left out when it comes to a reflection. I learned of Officer Yates' death from the local newspaper earlier this week. Plant City is located in Hillsborough County
and we work closely with the Plant City Police Department dailey. Officer Yates served the Plant City for a short peroid, but gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect it's citizens. Plant City is a tight knit community and although its been a long time, they will not forget Officer Yates' dedication and sacrifice. Officer Yates' rest in peace, brother and watch over all us still patrolling the streets of Plant City, Tampa, Temple Terrace, Hillsborough County, Tampa Int'l Airport Police and the Florida Highway Patrol.
