Thank you for leaving a family heritage I can be proud of and share with my children. I am your great granddaughter. I knew of the story of my great grandmother being appointed sheriff after your death, but I was not aware you were killed in a car accident. I also learned through my research you were a very popular sheriff and you did many things to help your fellowman. I am proud you are my great grandfather. I am also proud my great grandmother was thought to be the first woman sheriff according to Ripley's Believe It or Not. Thank you for a family heritage to be proud of and to share with your great, great grandchildren.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 76th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. How nice that your family is able to honor you on this site.
