I’m hoping and praying she is not the Vickie Wax I went to Southern with. Been trying to find my friend forever. Regardless, Lt. Wax seems like she was a good person and didn’t deserve what happened to her. It makes me sick to stomach that I was once friends with her killer.

Vicki, it does not seem like almost 14 years have gone by but you are not forgotten. The pain never really goes away, you just learn to live with it. You are missed and as our generation fades, I hope those who follow are aware of the losses.

I remember the stories the Lt. wax would share with us about how crime was alive and well and how she would not let go of the bad guys. She was tough!!! It's her stories that I carry with me that keep me safe and others around me. Thank you Lt. for those stories, I'll pass them to others, so they to will know how to be safe out there......

It has been a long time since you were taken from us. The pain has not diminish at all. I still think of the scum that killed you is still alive. It is time for him to pay with his life and bring some justice for all concerned. I hope that you are watching over all of those who go in harms way especially with all of the hate fanned by the new media. Rest in peace.

I am a retired prosecutor from the Office of the District Attorney in Baton Rouge. I personally knew Lt. Wax and worked numerous cases with her. It was a shock to me when I found out she had been murdered. She was a kind person who treated everyone fairly. She was a small woman with a big heart. She loved her job and was very serious about performing her duties well. Her loss was a loss to the community and not just the police department. She will never be replaced but will always be remembered for the wonderful human being she was.

Vickie,

It has been a long time, but you are still with us in heaven. Time does not diminish the loss. Many others have gone to their final rest, but you will always be remember. The 13 and a half mile long funeral procession. The tears, the loss, and the hope in the final roll call when we all with be called home. Rest in peace until we all are united again.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 8th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace.

Although many days have passed since your death, I recall the many good times we had. I miss you still and think about you often. The day your watch ended was one of the worse days of my life. We always had a good time and you were a very kind hearted person. I miss our wednesday night dinners! Then again, I just miss you.
I hope happiness finds us all = on this side or the next. I miss you and think of you often.
You worked so hard for retirement, but I guess you got the best retirement money Couldn't buy! Be happy and I know you're keeping a watchful eye on me as you did when you were here.

Still missing you every day Vickie. Everytiime I hear of another officer dying in the line I immediately think of you and that night. I have to say that was the hardest night i ever worked in the lab, i even thought about it being my last. Our little photo lab is growing leaps and bounds, you probably wouldn't recognize it, let allen know we miss him too.

On the 6th anniversary of Lieutenant Wax's death, we honored her service in our patrol briefing by reading her entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Lieutenant Wax is not forgotten.
