Reflections for Special Agent Thomas John Wyatt

Tom,
Your love surrounds us and the memories give us strength - and smiles. There is so much to say, but those eyes keep getting kind of watery....you know. We just miss you so very much.

The 8th anniversary of you being called away has arrived. There are people who will say that it seems only like yesterday, but for those that are close to you and love you dearly, it has felt like a lifetime since they heard your voice, saw your smile and felt your warm touch. Continue to keep watch over your loved ones. Wrap your wings around them and help them with their grief. You have not been forgotten.

Tom,

Today marks another year that you have been gone. At times it still does not seem real and I hope I will wake up and find it has all been a bad dream.

I often wonder what life would look like if you were still here. Along with the sorrow I have also had many great things happen in the last eight years. (In case you are wondering, I would trade them all to have you back.)

Then I wonder what you would look like. Would you have found a gray hair yet? Would your hairline take after dad or would you be starting to thin out? Would you finally really need that nose hair clipper that you asked for one Christmas? What kind of interesting cases would you be working on? So many questions that will remain unanswered, but this I know for sure...you will always be the best big brother! You are my hero and I miss you so much!
Love,
Gia

I was in DC for last night's candlelight vigil as part of National Peace Officers' Week and was able to find Tom's name and make a rubbing. Great memories came back of some laughs and good times. Today I took part in the COPS Kids program at the FBI National Academy and was honored to have hopefully assisted some kids in their grieving process. Rest in Peace Tom...Mark

Mr Wyatt, I read a lot of the reflections left by your sister, parents and others. I never knew you, but it is obvious from how heavy these folks hearts are that you must have been a very important piece of their lives. Although you are gone, I can not help but envy you. In the end, it's not money, power or fame. It's just the leagcy you leave, the people you touch and ultimately how much you're missed. Rest Easy brother.

Happy Birthday Tom!
I want so much to be able to tell you that in person! Instead, I will spend the day thinking of you, remembering you, and talking about you with anyone who is willing to listen. Just as it did the day you were born, it snowed today, and just as we did for the first 33 years of your life, we will celebrate today because your life made a difference to so many people and even now, you touch our hearts.
Happy Birthday, I love you, I miss you,

Tonight we went out for dinner with Dad and Mom. As I served myself a slice of pizza and had a long string of cheese stretching across the table, it reminded me of you. There are so many little things that bring back great memories of you. I will cherish every memory I have and be thankful for all the great times we had together. Thank you for still making me smile, even on sad days. I sure do miss you!
Love,
Gia

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones on this anniversary of you being called away from duty. People say as time goes on, we get better with handling our grief. We do, that is we are able to hold it deep within our hearts and hide it from others. I know a day has not gone by that your loved ones have not thought of you. You will never be forgotten.

Tom,

This year I have experienced many firsts with our children. Although I believe with all my heart you watch us from above, I miss you by my side. Brienna is driving and has had her first formal dance and Kyle has discovered girls! Our children have grown into amazing teenagers and are living life to the fullest.

There are still many days that my heart feels torn in half whether it is holidays, weddings or just a sad song can trigger a fountain of tears. We love you and continue to live life to the fullest in order to honor you knowing that our happiness was always your top priority. Thanks for giving us such a solid base for our family.

With all my love,
ME

Hey Tom,

I was missing you so much on my way home tonight that I was fighting back tears. Then I heard on the radio that it is National Brothers Week. Needless to say, that made me miss you even more. I wish I could call you and tell you what a great brother you are! I am so thankful to have had you in my life. You mean so much to me and I love you very much! ~Gia
