I was born long after you died, and I've always known your story. You are my Great-Grandfather on my mother's side, the Bell family. Your death took a terrible toll on your young wife and son, but we have all long been honored to be your descendants. Your young son had little due to the tragedy of your death, but he later served his country and became a tremendous success.
After his early retirement from his career, he lived the good life but soon began volunteering for the Sheriff's Dept. in Palm Beach County, FL. In fact, he volunteered for so many years and loved his duties so much, he received a letter of commendation from President Reagan.

As my cousin stated above, we will never forget but learn from your fine example.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 92nd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
