My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

On today the 151st anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.

Deputy Warden Walker, today marks the 150th anniversary of your vicious murder. The Department of Corrections plays a vital part in the criminal justice system and each individual who works within that Department has my respect for the job done. As far back as 1856, folks like you helped protect society but sadly, there are times when it can cost a life. You knew the risks and were there on the frontline anyway.

Thank you. In spite of all the time that has passed, you have not been forgotten.

No one who gave his life in the line of duty should be without a reflection. Thank you Deputy Warden Walker for laying down your life while trying to make this world a safer place. Your act of heroism will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
