Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

Im from the UK but my family is irish, my grandad told stories of a phillip j Mcglynn involved with the shoot out and subsequent death of Frank Capone, ive never doubted him but i would love to hear more from others who know the history.
Either way another hero laid to rest even if we were related or not. and true irish warrior as are all my people .

My father's older brother, John McGlyn ( family spelling) I always knew him as " my brother Johnny the cop" . He was a father to my dad because their dad died of typhus when my Dad was an infant. My Grandmother managed to buy a stained glass window in 1926, honoring her son in Saint Patrick's Church at 95th street and 4th Avenue, Brooklyn. I always thought that was a true refection of her loss and faith . I can't begin to imagine how she paid for it , a widow with 5 children. John was her rock. It is wonderful to see these Reflections, thank you all.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 87th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

My father was a police officer and always spoke of Uncle Johnny and how he died on the police boat. I always wanted to know more about Uncle Johnny. Thank you for sharing this story. He has never been forgotten and will always be remembered.
