Reflections for Chief of Police Wesley Taylor

Thank you for your service and please know that your sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten. Rest in peace always.

My Grandfather, Wesley Taylor was a well respected Chief of Police and former Sheriff of Wood County, Texas.
My Father, Wesley Marion Taylor, the eldest son of Wesley Taylor has to instantly step up and take care of his family. This was a very sad day and the effect that it had on this family is heart wrenching. MY Grandmother Minnie Agnes Dowdy Taylor had a long hard life ahead of her raising her children. I am proud to be the Granddaughter of such a Great Man. If you are ever in Washington DC, he has a dedication to his life there in The Fallen Officers of the United States of America.

I am suprised and humbled to find my grandfathers death listed on your page. I was not even born when his death occured, as a matter of fact my father was only 13 at the time of his death. Bless the people who keep this page and to the officers who daily risk their lives for all of us and to the ones who have passed. You will not be forgotten.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 63rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
